Family In The Park Day
11 AM - 4 PM
Come to Lords Park for a full day of fun in the sun with the whole family. The Park, Museum and Zoo will be open. At 11am, join educator Marge Fox at the Museum for a story about bison. From 12pm-2pm, enjoy BubbleFest: Make a bubble blower, shake hands in a bubble, stand in a bubble, and make your own bubble art. Museum staff will guide you in fun bubble activities ($2 for members, $3 for non-members). After that, be sure to visit the food trucks for a snack as well as the multitude of fun vendors in attendance. This event will take place outdoors, so please dress for the weather. No registration required.

Insects are everywhere! There are more insects on Earth than all other animals combined. Are all bugs considered insects? What body parts are the same for all insects? See the world through an insect’s eyes and watch simulated mouth parts in action. Use a special, magnifying bug-box to carefully catch a bug in Lords Park and inspect it closely before releasing it back to its home. Join the staff of Elgin Public Museum for some bug-themed crafts. Bison Feeding in Lords Park
7-8:30 AM; Fee: $2/Adult, $1/Child, Members Free
Join us for an up close and personal look at the bison, deer and elk at the Lords Park Zoo. Meet at the Museum for a short introduction after which we head for the zoo to assist the zookeeper in feeding these magnificent creatures. Space is limited to 12 people, so please register early!
