What makes music music? How do different types of instruments produce sound? Why do some combination of notes sound nice together, while others clash? We’ll explore the scientific aspects of music in this Science Night program. No registration required.

Drawing Adventures
11 am - 12 pm; $10 per person
Do your kids like to draw cool things? Then our drawing lessons are sure to spark their interest! They will learn basic
drawing skills like shapes and shading while completing drawings of interesting subjects. For October we will be drawing
pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns! All supplies provided. These lessons are for anyone first grade and older, so bring the
whole family! Advance registration is required, call the museum at 847-741-6655 to register for your space. Maximum of
20 students per session.

Bison Feeding in Lords Park
7 am - 8:30 am; $2/adult, $1/child, Members free
Join us for an up close and personal look at the bison, deer and elk at the Lords Park Zoo. Meet at the Museum for a short introduction after which we head for the zoo to assist the zookeeper in feeding these magnificent creatures. Registration required. Space is limited to 12 people so please register
early!

It is a time of remembrance and rejoicing when families get together to remember loved ones and saints who have gone. Join us at the Elgin Public Museum to investigate the roots and traditions of this important holiday; help us celebrate by creating your own decorations! No registration required.
